August 12th is celebrated annually as International Youth Day. A day dedicated to recognise the contributions of youth world wide and raising awareness about the challenges they face.
Youth are the hope of the country, embodying the energy, creativity and potential needed to drive progress. They are the ones who will carry forward the dreams and aspirations of a nation. As the future leaders, thinkers and builders the youth hold the power to shape the destiny of their country. By nurturing their talents, supporting their education, and empowering them to take on leadership roles, we invest in a brighter, more prosperous future for all. The hope of a nation lies in its ability to inspire and equip its young people to achieve greatness.
When the youth in third world countries suffer with hardships like poverty, limited access to education and healthcare and human trafficking. On the other hand, youngsters in the western countries are dominated by issues like mental health struggles, cyber bullying, body image issues and substance abuse.
The safety of youth in society is a complex issue and it greatly depends upon the presence of support systems. I believe parental support plays a vital part in this. Educating the parents on effective communication and the need for positive parenting techniques strengthens the family support. Also parents should monitor and restrict their children's online activity , which helps them to prevent exposure to harmful content. In fact school should be a safe learning environment for the children and a place protected from bullying ,violence and harassment. Also schools should offer education on life skills , mental health and substance abuse prevention too. Peer support groups are another way for sharing concerns and seeking help. These support systems when effectively implemented can create a safe and nurturing environment for youth.
It is our duty to safeguard our youth for a better future. By providing them with the right education, opportunities, and guidance, we equip them with the tools they need to thrive and lead. Protecting their physical, mental, and emotional well-being is crucial, as it allows them to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to society. Investing in the safety and development of our youth today is an investment in a brighter, more prosperous tomorrow.
