ABOUT US

Bridge to Care is a not-for-profit organization providing individualized support to children, youth, adults, seniors and families across Alberta.
Since 2017, we have grown from our foundation in disability and family supports into an organization offering a broader continuum of community, residential, educational, therapeutic, respite and home-based services.
Our purpose is to help people receive the right support at the right time while promoting dignity, independence, personal growth and meaningful participation in community life.
WHO WE ARE
Every individual and family comes to Bridge to Care with different strengths, circumstances, cultures, goals and support needs.
For that reason, our services are designed around the person rather than a one-size-fits-all model of care.
We work collaboratively with individuals, families, caregivers, professionals, educational institutions, community organizations and government partners to coordinate supports that are practical, respectful and responsive to individual needs.
This approach reflects the philosophy on which our Child & Family Services were built—meeting the needs of children and families while respecting cultural, social and personal differences and building upon family strengths.
OUR STORY
From a Local Beginning to a Growing Alberta Organization
Bridge to Care was established in 2017 with a commitment to supporting individuals and families who needed dependable, compassionate and individualized care.
As the needs of the people and communities we serve have changed, Bridge to Care has continued to evolve.
Our services have expanded beyond traditional disability supports to include family services, respite, residential and community supports, therapeutic services, inclusive post-secondary education, senior care and other individualized programs.
The meaning behind our name continues to guide our growth:
Bridge to Care exists to help bridge the gap between people and the care, opportunities and community connections they need.

WHO WE SERVE
Bridge to Care provides support across different stages of life.
We serve children and youth requiring developmental or family supports; adults with developmental disabilities; individuals requiring respite, residential or community assistance; post-secondary learners requiring individualized campus support; individuals accessing therapeutic services; seniors requiring assistance at home; and families and caregivers who need additional support.
Our services can change as the needs and goals of the individual change.

INCLUSIVE POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION (IPSE)
Learning. Belonging. Building Independence.
Bridge to Care's Inclusive Post-Secondary Education (IPSE) program supports eligible adult learners in participating in post-secondary education and campus life.
Individualized support can assist learners with navigating their educational environment, participating in courses and campus activities, developing social connections, strengthening life skills and preparing for future employment and greater independence.
The program is designed to make the post-secondary experience about more than attending classes—it is an opportunity to learn, participate, belong and grow.

SENIOR CARE
Supporting Independence at Home
Bridge to Care supports seniors who wish to remain safe, comfortable and connected within their own homes and communities.
Services can be arranged around the senior's existing routines, lifestyle and family support system, ranging from assistance for a few hours to more extensive care depending upon individual needs.
This flexibility has been part of Bridge to Care's Senior Care approach, including professional and compassionate caregiver support from several hours up to 24 hours.

Needs change throughout life.
A child receiving respite or therapeutic services today may later require community supports, life-skills development, post-secondary assistance, employment preparation or support for greater independence.
Bridge to Care is building a continuum of services that can respond as those needs change.
Our goal is to make accessing support simpler for individuals and families by connecting people with appropriate services through an organization they can know and trust.
The philosophy expressed on our existing website remains central to that work: helping people maximize their potential and involvement in community life.

Specialized Care for All Life Stages and Abilities
One organization. Individualized support. Stronger communities.
Bridge to Care — Connecting people to care, opportunity and community.

Child & Family
Services
We work alongside children and families to provide individualized supports that recognize the strengths of the family while responding to the needs of the child.
Our goal is to strengthen family wellbeing, support development and help families access appropriate assistance within their homes and communities.
Disability Services
Bridge to Care supports individuals with developmental disabilities in building skills, increasing independence and participating meaningfully in their communities.
Our disability services are grounded in respect for each person's culture, values and individuality—principles that have been part of Bridge to Care's service philosophy from the beginning.
Respite Services
Respite provides families and caregivers with an opportunity to rest, attend to other responsibilities or simply take time to recharge while knowing their loved one is appropriately supported.
Bridge to Care provides hourly and extended respite options, with activities and supports adapted to the individual's needs, interests and abilities.

Out of Home Placement
For individuals requiring support outside the family home, Bridge to Care provides structured and individualized arrangements focused on safety, stability, daily living and quality of life.
Support is planned according to the person's assessed needs and coordinated with families and other professionals where appropriate.
